Google Analytics 4 (GA4)
GA4 is the next generation of Google Analytics, offering you privacy controls, predictive data, direct product links, and customizable reports for websites and mobile apps.
Find your data
Older data can be accessed from your original property, which will collect data until July 1, 2023.
Beyond views: Browse, customize, and filter reports
GA4 offers new standard reports and customized reporting to suit your needs.
Previously, property reports were accessed through a view. In GA4, you can filter, compare, and permit access to your data, or use a combination of these to create behavior similar to views.
Measure events and conversions
GA4 measures user behavior with events (instead of sessions and hits). Events measure user interactions that occur on your website or app, such as clicking a button, loading a page, or completing a purchase.
You can mark your most important events as conversions in GA4 (similar to goals in your original property) and export them to Google Ads for bidding.
Build audiences and link Google Ads
Create audiences (replacing segments in your original property) to group users based on defined characteristics, past behaviors, or predicted future behavior. You can apply these audiences across GA4 reports and Google Ads.
Once you’re happy with your GA4 conversions and audiences, link your Google Ads account and configure your campaigns to act on GA4 data.
